💼 My job and where I'm based
I’m a Product Manager at Shares. I have the fun job of building and growing our in-app communities. My job is pretty varied, some days I’m figuring out what new communities we want, and other days I’m scratching my head about moderation and what cool bells and whistles to build next for all of you.
😊 What I enjoy about the role
The best part about my role is that it gives me the opportunity to work with just about every team in the company. From Marketing and Design, to Compliance and Expansion, it never gets old. Something’s not right if I’m doing the same thing two days in a row! The variety in my work and with the people I work with day-to-day is what I enjoy most.
🗓 What I'm currently working on
We’re currently working on redesigning the Communities interface. We love our vibrant card illustrations, but they’re not the best for discovering new content, and chatting with others. We’re looking to consolidate content from across all your communities in a single feed. All you’ll need to do is scroll (and hopefully share yourself!)
💪 Strengths needed for my role
To be successful in my role you need to be a great communicator. You need to find common ground between stakeholders, and make sure you’re speaking the same language. Remember, there’s no such thing as over-communicating! Being a good communicator helps ensure that everyone’s on the same page, at any given moment in time.
🕺 What I like to do after work and at the weekends
Outside of Shares I like to get outdoors as much as possible! Whether that’s going for runs along the Thames, exploring London markets, or getting lost on a walk. When I have a bit more time on my hands I try to arrange the odd hiking trip with friends or city breaks abroad.
