Is the New York Stock Exchange open at the weekend?
The New York Stock Exchange is not open at the weekend. It is also closed during all major bank holidays such as New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Does the New York Stock Exchange have after-hours trading?
Yes, the New York Stock Exchange has both before and after hours trading. Pre-trading hours can start as early as 4am, but they do vary. After-market trading hours also vary, but the markets are closed by 8pm. Typically though, most trading activity finishes earlier at around 6:30pm.
