What time does the Nasdaq open and close?
The Nasdaq opens 9:30am to 4pm from Monday to Friday during the Eastern Time Zone. These are the same trading times as the New York Stock Exchange — disclaimer: you may see a running theme here.
Is the Nasdaq open at the weekend?
Similar to the New York Stock Exchange, the NASDAQ isn't open during the weekend. It is also closed during all major bank holidays such as New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Does the Nasdaq have after-hours trading?
And not to confuse things further, but the Nasdaq mirrors the New York Stock Exchange's after trading hours. The pre-market hours can begin as early as 4am, but most transactions happen from 8am onwards. The post-market hours can last until 8pm, but the majority happens at 6:30pm or earlier.
