Hot Minute News: Snapchat's virtual clothing, Moderna stock and Musk's perfume

Snapchat introduces virtual clothing, Moderna stock surges and Musk sells... perfume?

Elon Musk has sold $1 million worth of his “Burnt Hair” perfume. Yep, you read that right.

But first, here are the other top two stories of the week.

  • At number three, Snapchat now lets you virtually try on and buy clothes. This is a part of a new AR experience that lets you buy clothes directly within the app. This could be the beginning of a brand new trend, as companies like Amazon, Pinterest and Google also let you virtually try on apparel, accessories and makeup.

  • At number two, Moderna stock has surged 16% after being given $250 million to work on a vaccine targeting melanoma. Since going public in 2018, Moderna stock rocketed 434% in 2020 and 143% in 2021.

  • And yes, at no. 1, Elon Musk has launched his “Burnt Hair” perfume, at $100 per bottle. This has already sold over 10,000 bottles, making over $1 million. Musk’s “Boring Company” has previously sold hats, fire extinguishers and flamethrowers.
